Thoughts from my head on my way to work . . .

we live in our heads,
tentacles of ourselves reaching out

my ex-husband stole my
inheritance
to hire a man
to stalk me,
and then ultimately kill me. . .
Yet
When the man and his friends
were ready to snatch me,
from the street corner,
as I waited for the first bus . .
and then the police car
came up behind them,

from nowhere . . .
like my guardian angel . . .

So many years ago . .  and the tears still fall
when I remember . .
I try not to remember how I hated and feared men
after that . . .
The horrors of a man who could leave
a woman he once loved
destitute . . .

for I had nothing left,
but my life . . .
my friends
my child
my joy of life
the stars over my world
the air, flowers, birds . .
running water . .
my intellect
my spirit

my strength . . .

we live in our heads,
tentacles of ourselves reaching out

the beautiful girl
raced past me to get to the bus shelter's bench
why?
She saw me with my cane . . .
my slow pace . . .

I wonder sometimes . . .

If the fruit of the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil . . .
was that verbal communication?
Was Eve the first human to talk?
Is that why men hate women so much?
because Adam had to listen?

we live in our heads,
tentacles of ourselves reaching out. . .

The workmen, in the building, gave me earplugs
to ward off the loud dissonant sounds
of the fire alarms
they were testing . .
with strobe lights flashing .. ..
it feels like an alternate universe
and I cannot quell the sensation
that I must run away. . .

the ear plugs are soft with pink and yellow stripes,
like candy,
I squish one down
and place it in my ear
where it expands slowly
tickling my ear drum
with its whispering sounds . . .
now I hear
only the sounds
of my inner self . . .

We live in our heads,
tentacles reaching out . . .

I walk towards the stairs
which lead up to my office

there is a lonely footprint
on the unwashed floor
bare and small
toes pointed
towards the exit. . .

We live in our heads,
tentacles reaching out . . .

Delicate flute and rushing water .  . peaceful and quiet . . .  gives the listener room to breath . . .
My only complaint is that the album is too short . . . but I listened . . . forever . . ..

GingerTom, "Music and the Movies 10"

With GingerTom's music, it is best to travel to Jamendo where he furnishes our minds with a delightful story to attend to the music . . . Even better to go to the beginning of this series and read the stories for all . .  in order:

I love the mystery of this musical story . . . It touches on something I would love to do . . travel through China, incognito and being touched by the simple lives and the beauty that abounds, both natural, historical, and human created . . . the Asian notes, and instrumental sounds in the music is quite nice, not overdone but tempting the heart of the listener . .. to follow . .. wherever it may lead. (This is one of my favorite GT's )

  Francesco, "Réflexions"

http://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a82736/reflexions

A slow walk near a silver pond.....
while a pair of swans float serenely by
and seem to be held aloft
in the crystal blue sky . . .
a cool breeze caresses my cheek,
and the sweet scent of blossoms
wafts near
touching my soul
while the music calms my stresses
and I feel at peace . . .

A beautiful album ... designed to free me from fear and sadness . . . and lifts the stresses from my environment . . . a healing is in process . . . a moment is filled in with the twinkling stars and an angel's touch . . Gorgeous and serene . . . - M^^W -
An old review of mine . . . I enjoy listening to this album anytime I need to de-stress . . .

***************************************************************

I see a tapestry
                   of existence
laid across a night
                           black sky,
the warp and weft
        unfamiliar to me
**--**--**--**--**--**--**--**

                                                  I watched her
                                                           as she sat, slouched
                                                   in the bus shelter,
                                                          her nervous dancing feet,
                                    encased in brown shabby boots,
                            maintained a strict,
yet open shape of a 'v;'
                        her eyes withdrawn,
                                she glanced at me,
                                         quickly. . .
                  dismissing my presence. .
The shelter reeked of body odors,
                     old food, dead leaves,
           and tobacco . ..
                                       her faded,
                                       jean jacket
seemed to be lined with steel
                                         and kept
                  her shoulders from
                slumping as if there were
          no self-will left within
                          her thin frame . . .
                 her hand,
held a phone to her ear
                                       tightly,
          as if she were searching
              for an elusive heartbeat . . .
                   and as she quietly talked,
                      her demeanor intense
          and her eyes sparkling with
                                  tears, unshed,
                                          I looked at the sky
                  across the highway . .
                                       which was unusually
                   peaceful . .
                            The day somber,
                                   though the morning
                                               sun glinted
                    on everything shiny,
                                      as it slanted
                   over my shoulders . . .
The clouds stretched out,
                  curling, like feathers, into
                          the shape of a fan . .
                the center
                            radiating out from
             my vision,
                         and lining the sky
                                 with thin strings
       of arthritic
                                  stretching fingers . .
                            gnarled and frail,
              they bent and beckoned
                             over my head . .
The woman at the stop
         carved her anger
                           and confusion
               between her eyes . .
she looked up once more at me
through her short gray bangs . ..
and shrugging herself to her feet . .
                       slowly walking away . . .
she shuffled down the long sidewalk
            beneath the silver clouds
                                          talking softly
                                                           on her telephone . . .

**************************

ahh! I remember the ride, the other day, coming home on the bus.
I was watching this striking, elegant woman
and her companion . . .
he was wearing a dark hound's tooth jacket,
and a floppy fedora hat
. . . and was confined
to a wheel chair . . .
He had a neatly trimmed gray beard
and sat quietly with
a pleasant smile on his face . . .
as he gazed out the front window of the bus,
glancing at no one,
talking to nobody . . .
She wore a pea green jacket
made of linen, slightly wrinkled . .
She had bottle thick glasses
which distorted her bright gray eyes
and yet as she slowly blinked behind them
she had a certain look of self confidence
and calm about her . . .
Her thin cheeks were rouged
as was her neck . .  a soft rose petal. . .
Her slender feet encased in white tennis shoes
and her black cotton trousers, by sagging around her legs,
gave her the appearance of being conflicted
. . . Her left arm stretched out toward her companion and
her fingers firmly resting on his knee,
gave her a proprietary air . . .
as if by her frail strength, alone,
she could keep him from flying out of his chair . .
Her nails were neatly mainicured,
and her fingers were tastefully decorated
with a big shiny ring . .
thin gray hair neatly capped her head, like a halo. . .
She held close to her side, a pocket book,
crammed to overflowing with envelopes;
which I think were old love letters,
and ancient bills . . . which she filed neatly
and carried with her everywhere.
When it was time for them to exit the  bus,
she was the one to unbuckle the wheelchair
and push her man off the bus . .
and last, in the frame of my vision
was her fragile figure
leaning far forward as she
shoved at that heavy chair
making slow progress down the street . .
The wind blowing her light clothing behind her
as if it were trying to form wings
of what she wore . .
yet she remained weighted down
by her pocketbook full of treasure,
tightly clasped beneath her arm.

Having tinnitus is a 24/7 365 ordeal . . . Mine gets louder with the sounds I hear with my good ear . . . such as when children are screaming, the hissing in my ear becomes a private shrieking and actually hurts at times . . . I want to crawl into a cave of silence where those horrible sounds will subside . . . but my job, with children, continues and I must compensate my anguish in my own time . . .

My friend, on FaceBook, who also suffers with tinnitus, shared that she was going to try some sort of relaxing music so she can sleep . . . I suggested drones, because that style of music helps my headaches . . . and so between the two of us we found these two albums to be helpful,
or at least we hope so:

It's interesting
that both of
these albums
look similar

Album Review Writing . . . back on Jamendo

One Year Ago

YAY . . . Album review writing is back on Jamendo . . .

My First since the new platform came into being:
Dreamy and Beautiful . . . a moment of flight . . into the peace and fullness of . . . this shining light . . . for this brand new album: http://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a109954/misty-dawn
Go look if you don't believe me . . .

Now I am listening to an ambientish drone . . .  "Visions from the Outside," by Thorwald Odin

. . . A new album, which is peaceful, like laying on a warm, sandy beach . .  watching the seagulls flying, and letting the sound of the ocean carry you deep into a peaceful rest . . :

I will write an album review a little later and put it on Jamendo . . .

Also . . . I am sorry for having made so many mistakes on this posting . . . . . . I'm being distracted by my job and I can understand why things aren't always perfect . . .

I'm certainly not!

In Black and White Whispers

Paris .. . Cemetery

http://www.youtube.com/user/ArduinnaMusic/videos

So dreamy and ethereal . . . you can't help but fall in love with the wolves in this black and white video, featuring the music of Arduinna .  .

Taking us back through our haunted history
we look into the deep eyes of the wolf
and follow their journey across the frozen tundra . . .

The music is cool and mesmerizing
with a hidden passion yearning to break free . . .
the song of the wolf shimmers across the white wilderness
of our imagination . .
Follow in the vanishing footprints of the wolf
as he walks with his pack . ..  sifting through the mists
of time . . . and meaning .. .
preparing us to love . . .
compelling us to never forget
the wild
in our heart . .

"When the Last Wolf Dies" by ArduinnaMusic:

"Catharsis" by Krzysztof Malinowski

This album is so listenable . . . that one could find themselves matching spirits to the music as one goes about their day . . . Electronic and vibrant . . . a gift to the soul . . . a sensitive mood, calming yet poetic . .

A vision of the night . ..
deep into the realms of shadow,
we pursue the light
yet hidden from the beast
we tremble in the cold . . .
from one end of our life
to the other . . . we
search
always searching for that other
which somehow meets us in the middle . .
a faith a love a hope
we rise to greet peace
on trembling legs . .  and silent voice . .
we heard a song
that led us here . . .

Dreaming Music

I love visiting Magnatunes because they always have quality music, and an abundance of genres I adore. There are several membership programs, and I chose the lifelong membership plan because I can download an album whenever I wish and I don't need to worry about whether I have paid or not.

I loved their honesty, also. There was a problem with my subscription and they fixed it for me without wasting time. I do not care for the appearance of their home page, but they are planning on re-designing that . . . at the present time the page is so small and difficult to maneuver through without some prior experience.

Rising and falling …

the nature of water . .

soothing and cool
with the extra
sparkle of sunlight . .
This album gives so much pleasure

like floating on a peaceful lake . ..

Celtic strings,
giant drums
and delicate fantasy . .  .

taking us into a dreamlike past,

into the mists of distant time . .

and here we wander with the visions

and dance a jig . . .

or cry with the ballad of lost love

and wide waters . . .
a longing to fly . ..

a dream of desire . . .

 Mahler's Cat by Softspace

What do you hear, little kitty . .
what do you see?
You have visions that I will never understand
or believe in a dream or a song ..  .
though we crawl through the dew
before the morning's light,
the song of the meadow
vibrates beneath our feet
and
through the mist a bird glides home
and our hearts follow
where echoes roost on mossy branches
sturdy with life . . .yet flitting away
before the ready grasp

Experimental soundscape in nature, this music has a tendency to capture the imagination in many guises; while giving thrills and chills and sufficient visions, and artificially stimulating the senses giving the impression of mysterious experiences . . these pieces were rich in varied texture and color while creating a perfect inner theater . . Fascinating!
and a little insane. . .

Definitely wear headphones with this album and be ready to be mesmerized!

After Jamendo

Lincoln City, Oregon

So many of us are distressed about the loss of the "old Jamendo" and its friendly playgrounds, viable community, and easy to follow layout.

For me, the biggest loss is the review feature. I made so many friends through the reviews and the dialogue in the forums and elsewhere. It's a huge loss but these issues will need to be covered elsewhere and in other ways . . .

So, I have decided to write my reviews here on my blog with a widget or link to the music in question . . .

So here is a problem . . .  When musicians remove their music from a site, the widget becomes useless .. .. When I come upon these, here in my blog, I remove them and usually I remove the words, also .. . . (I just removed a widget and review)
*************************************************************

Another site I've been enjoying exploring is : http://archive.org/
which is a vast repository of web sites, books, texts, videos, audio . . . etc.
including all of Jamendo: http://archive.org/details/jamendo-albums

I found this little song by another Jamendo favorite of mine, posted here on her own little pages . . . Van Syla's "Rain Moon" . . . uniquely her, yet in a new style.

Stunning!
Beautiful and ethereal . .
graceful is this dream song . . .
the gauzy skirts of the clouds
drift over the shining face of the moon . . .
flirting and dancing
to the drumming rain . . .
a sentimental wistfulness . . .
and for a moment our vision expands
to witness a passion, between
a lonely rock and a serene blue planet . .
and then we follow the tracks
of the rain . . . upon the black pavement . .
our hearts . . . that much lighter . . .

********************************************************

So There you have it ... my latest recommendations and reviews . . . .. ...

Enjoy the music . . . where ever it may be, and however it finds you . . . it is there to fill you with emotion, joy, and passion . . .
Enjoy it while you can . . .

Jamendo . . . From the Poet's Heart . . .

Fern

Cool and Smooth . . like stardust in a river flow . . .

The lone runner . . .
landscapes moving by as a vision
smoothly . . .
slipping from our grasp and observation . . .
the feel of wind whipped cheeks
cool and salty like tears . ..
a tempo settles in and moves
the listener . . .
we can fly too, with the wings of our feet
kissing the earth . . .
the soil of our beginnings . . the cradle of our desperation . .
our dream . .
brilliant stars move beneath . .
lifting us higher . . . each speck of flame
in the black universe. . . a song . . .
a melody which flows like a breeze
through our soul . . .
the dust of the stars . .. build our bones . . .
and give us strength for the race . . .

Thank you for the music to inspire me and cool my burning bones. . .

Lone Runner
by Pascalum
************************************************************************************

Magical piano . . . the musician is a magician . . .
causing emotion to roll through my heart in big waves . . .
I gulp down the music like a thirsty being
lost in a desert
and finding an oasis . . .
a tree grows, offering shade from a brutal sun . .
the night falls . . . a clear endless darkness . . .
deep as a well . .
and the starlight . . .
dances and shimmers across the cooling waters . . .
in the distance . . .
the song of a wild thing . .. calling .. .
intense . .. vibrant and piercing . .
what is this river
that runs down my cheeks . . .?
leaving patterns
against the dust
like an enigmatic message . .
of truth and pain . .
of love and despair . . .
I am moved . . in my bones . . .
the sharp edges . . . ragged and telling . ..
a bloody beating thing . ..
is throbbing in the center .. .

I cry . . .

Below the Lint . . .

In Strasbourg, France 2011

The Empty Hole

I practice what to say
before I leave the building
I say "good bye . . "
it takes a moment's care
not to say something foolish
or blue;
the flies gather at the corner
where the sun settles,
pushing to find the weakness . . .
an obligation to stand still
at the bus stop
turns into a restlessness
wandering
    traveling
testing each step
each stop of the route . . .
a failure to
realize my place
in the hierarchy,
can result in dismissal
from the ranks
and banishment. . .
its always safest
to take the lowest place,
below the lint perhaps
which only cares to annoy . .
the wind . .  rustles the leaves
on my road
as I walk,
the pale of the morning
precedes me . ..

Melodie in der Nacht
by Linda Li
************************************review by me . . . .

Sweet lively listening . . . many of these songs sounded familiar to me;
they were romantic and sentimental with a sad yearning, a plaintive melody . . .
In Strasbourg, France 2011
. .. and plucking at my memories . . .
something from long ago
drifting like a lonely cloud
across an empty sky . .
returning through my dreams . ..
a half remembered waltz . . .
a kiss, a tender look . . .
all faded away like lavender ink
on old love-letters . . .
happy memories cut short . .
a sadness . .
a melancholy . . .
a crumbled dried rose . . .
dusty petals on the floor . .
there was yesterday . .
and now it is nothing more . . .
than the breezes knocking,
knocking on my door . . .
a candle quickly snuffed . . .
sits sputtering in an open window . .
and the silence in this melody . . .
is more than I can bear . . .
. . . is more than I can bear . . .

The 4 elements
by Peter Kind
********************************review by me

A breath of fresh air . . .
Love is the energy . .
from which all things come . . .
creation upon creation . . .

beauty in the "earth" . . there is no compare . ..
except for the dreams and fantasies . . .
of the visionary listening
to the music . . a temporal thing . .
a dragonfly's song . . . an angel's wing . . .
lost in the melody . .

Fire in the darkness . . . a light,
a warmth, the listener hangs on to the quiet . . .
humbled by the unknown . . .
sparks rise to kiss the stars . . .
and the night descends . . .

a dance of energy .. .. a lightness
of gentle feet . . . pattering, and frisky . .
lifting higher with the wings of the breeze . . .
as the dark trees on the hill sway . .
they lift their branches in praise
and they dance in the wind . . .

water drifts down from the trees . . .
and pool in the shadows . .
silver with ambient light, small leafy life boats
float across on the mirroring surfaces . .

the stillness of the earth . . . a sail in the wind
the light of a distant fire guides . . .
as a star in a darkened sky . . .
and the water, as spirit, moves the soul
throughout . . .
Tender is the music . . gently to be moved. . .

Spiritum contra spiritus
by Alejandro Vallarino
**************************review by me . . .
I remember hiking through a beautiful mountain forest,
long ago with my sister. . . and finding a small crystal spring,
bubbling up between the toes of a large mossy tree . . . magical . ..
and this album cover reminded me of that . ..
and, not surprisingly . . . so did the music .. .
it has a rather magical clarity .. .. a twinkling of unusual notes . . .
and surprising moments . . . as if suddenly transported to
a place undefined . .. a moment that makes your heart feel
like a fragile bubble and you catch your breath
in wonder . ..
piano . . . guitar .. . dreamily expressed as if in
a perfect trance. . . very nice and very unusual .. ..
I like that . . it dances and whispers . . .
sparkles and flies . .. like a drop of spring water . ..

JAZZ . . .

expressive and dynamic
yet peaceful and calm . . .

subtle . . .
a great evening's listen and some of the best jazz
on Jamendo . . .
the emotional piano, percussion and bass . . . work
so well together as to be seamless in the overall
presentation . . .

Why is jazz my favorite music? I have been trying to understand that myself . .. but maybe its because it pulls to the surface my emotions of the moment .  .
whether cheerful or sad . . .
blue or mad .  .  .
When I hear good jazz like this,
I feel it in the pit of my stomach . . .
that thumping of the bass . . .
like a bloody heartbeat . . .
the piano like crumpled wings
trying to break free .  .  .
and the percussion . . .
a wet road in a maze of life . ..
and together they become
like building blocks
creating the beat of my life . . .
growing like a tree,
lifting up my inner soul
like a baby bird, on the branches
of life, . .. Sometimes protected and

sometimes exposed . .
Yes . . . Jazz often expresses my life . ..
giving me meaning and understanding . ..
like a poem . . like a  song . . .

Electric and funky . . .
a little bluesy and a lot jazzy . . .
vibrations and chimes . ..
delivering a punch  to the psyche . . .
tremendously good . ..

Perspective in Beauty and Madness . . .

from day to day my life transforms . . .
am i in love? or do i rejoice?
as the sun rises .. .. to shine on me . .
or the rain begins to fall . . . and
you move me to despair;
the colors of my day . . are as
whimsical as the gods .  ..
and leave me floundering in my shell . . .
i am lost in my universe . . . as i look
for a foundation . . .
i am but a wild star
flinging itself through the blackness . . .
longing for an anchor
with the fortitude . .
to hold me still
against the solar winds . . .
that hurl me hither and yon . . .
and as I bounce among the others
feeling the flame and the scorn
I see in the eyes the terror
the anger
against my existence. . .
and my sorrow returns
where I find myself hiding in the
darkness .. .. away from the radiant beams
of others . . .
**********************************************************************************
Emotional and beautiful . . . a smooth flow of thought and creativity . ..  this album shines with the energy and talent of this artist. The poem above was inspired by his music:
Bipolarity
by Dave Imbernön
 ***********************************************************************************

So Beautiful and so Touching . . .

an extraordinarily lovely pop song . . .
Gorgeous voice . . .
did you write the lyrics too ???
Beautiful and so emotional . . . it made me cry . . .
I know how you feel . . .
that deep ache inside that just won't leave . . .
though you be in a crowd . . .
you feel like you are missing something . .
and you have an emptiness . . .
a soul hunger . . .
yes . . . that desire to be seen . .. and loved . . .
yes, its unmistakable when others express it . . .
lonely for love or seeking god . .
its hard to know for sure but its a big part of the human condition . . .
we are all right on the brink of suffering . . .
such fragile creatures we are . .
so helpless and so full of need for each other . ..
like a bit of sunshine, warm cup of tea, a melody, a vision . . .
it all comes to an end so quickly and there again . .
that empty feeling . . that need to find something to fill that hollowness . . .

the song ends so abruptly though . .. like something dangling
over an edge . . . and then falls . .

Unworld
by Onjinn
what are dreams made of
but the flight of the heartbeat,
the soul's recognition . .
and the simple sound of passion's music . . .
these are the shapes that lead us
to this world of dreams . . .
through
our imaginations . . our hope and
our love . . .
the colors of my world
have yet to be conceived .. ..
yet I see them dripping through my
outstretched fingers . .
as I hold them out to you . .
like a rainbow's arc . . .
ephemeral and evasive
yet true . . .
how quickly we learn to run
with the flow . . .
how quickly we learn to dance . . .
I remember the day that I died . . .
so very long ago . . .
and here is where I came . . .
by chance . . .
so I look for you through the furrows of life . ..
as I stumble blindly in the dark
I look for you . . . my love . . my light . ..
and I find in you the harmonics of mystery
and the melody of
this music. . .

 Goodbye

The march of time
goes slowly by
rending what we hold most dear . . .
This temporal place
these bloody shreds
We cling to in despair . . .
Dance with me my beloved
for we soon must say
goodbye
Hold my hand my love
and look into my eyes
I see myself inside of you . . .
and you within my heart
you are forever there
although,
we must be apart …

 NATURAL
by Spisfire
Review: This morning, during my walk, I pulled out an old favorite of mine on my iPod, Spisfire, and chose to listen to this album . . .and, although it has a powerful beat and percussion, I am intrigued by how smooth it is . . . like fine wine. The beats are consistent throughout the album and seem to be almost a signature of his . . . a wonderful walking companion. Yet I think this music is excellent for anytime . . . even relaxing as the the music is so smooth it could be considered ambient or newage.

I am moved by the bird song . . so clearly heard, that I thought I was surrounded by my little feathered friends serenading me; lifting my spirits and encouraging me as I nearly flew to my destination. I especially loved, "Somewhere in a deep forest" as I definitely got the feeling that I was walking in a rain forest of my area . . . damp and misty but very pleasant to walk through . .

Spisfire's natural rhythm is that of the heartbeat . . . whether it is of the Earth or of his or mine . .. we are all touching each other through this music .. .. moving through our mother (Earth) as if swimming through her womb . . she contains us, nourishes us, and our heartbeats are as if one . . . even as we try to destroy her . .. we yearn for her . . for nature and its beauty.

Spisfire choses some very excellent sounds to accompany his music . . . mostly natural . . . always gentle sounds yet clear as crystal . . . and he composes with his excellent talent some very beautiful music . . .
