Blue

Things that fly . . . at the mere kiss of the breezes . . .

the sun shines, warm and close . . . .

The birds are buzzing,
and the bees singing,
little things marching
on their parade grounds
find their place . . .
on this heaven we sometimes
call earth . . .

We force our way past gravity
reaching toward the unknown . . ..
dreaming of the impossible,
following our
star

The dragon folds
her treasure
into the palms of the lonely,
and dropping her demons to the floor she
lifts her wings
to shine against the
blazing sun

When I find myself lost
in the shadows
I wait, but a moment,
for the sun to follow
her road
above the horizon . . .
where she kisses
my cheeks
and breathes
her warm life giving
spirit
under my
sun dappled
wings . .

. . . and I am
the meadow,
I am the dream of tomorrow,
and the dance of the
eagle's eye,
sparkling . . . . . .
for that moment
that lasts forever . ..

*********************************************

I took all these pictures around Clackamas Town Center near Portland . . .  A small meadow next to the I-205 freeway, inspired me the most . .. and all the art, hanging on poles which intrigue me . . .tend to appear in the most amazing places . . . where they capture the sun and reflect it back to the observer . . .

The Solitude of Love

What does the solitary rose
of the desert know
more than the dozen of her kind that
grow in tender care
softly kissed by the sweet dews of night ?

what does the fragile bird sing
when wings are spread
before the day has dawned. . .?
what does the small fish dream
when tossed below the violent waves
lashed by the hungry storm?

And does the desolate star
hidden behind heavy clouds
shine less brightly than his brothers
who rage in splendid glory
across a bottomless sky?

Is there passion in the moment
is there glory in the night, while
a dream, a wisp of something,
rises up like misty visions
from the lonely dreaming soul
turning slowly in restless sleep?

for desolate grows the night
of that solitary soul
clinging to the slender vine
where deep are the shadows that linger
draping the wall dividing the worlds
of despair and joy . . .

and sweet desire, the soul that holds to
 compassion and self-control while
awaiting the glory of
a momentary flight
that rises on wings to soar
into the sunlit blue. . .
and give away
what it retains . ..
of peace and love and hope . .. .

Review for: "Winter in Tenochtitlan" by ETHNICO
This was very nicely composed music . . . exceptionally creative and filling my listening spaces with the harmonious melodies of ancient tales and wistful dreams . ..  the music lifted me and gave me wings to fly . . . resting above the storm in quietude and  peace . .. .

The percussions were vividly drawn and the instruments chosen to paint the songs were used with perfection.

Musician of the Week: David Lerne

Oregon Coast

I can listen to all these songs for hours . . . not one fails me . . . they are simply beautiful and uplifting . . .

Review for : "Lost Garden"

This is so pretty . . . the kind of beauty that feels pure . . it is sensitive and kind . .. it touches the heart with tenderness . . and love . . .. like a rose in the dusty summer . . . it lifts its head with scented wonder and flares out for the glory of the sun, a life giver and . . . giving the listener's soul a chance to rise with it into a sort of praise and momentary exaltation . . . music that elevates and lifts us up into a heightened awareness . . . Tremendously spiritual . . . a musician most gifted and generous . . .

Review for :  "Seaside"

This delightful album is so sentimental and tender ... I believe it has healing qualities .. .. and if you should need some comfort in life .. .. listen right here because you will find it, as has been attested to by other listeners.

This artist has remarkable talent and skill . . . and knows how to reach down into the soul and fill in all the little empty spaces with genuinely beautiful music. These songs are very relaxing and worth letting loose into your atmosphere to create a relaxing mood, a peaceful place, a moment to breath deeply . . .

Review for: "Masoandro"

The music is warm and the voice calls like a god of old . . . tempting the weary to fall under a spell . . .  and float away into the sinking sun . . . on the deep and rocking ocean waves . . . Beautiful.

Bluebells and California poppies . . . a small garden by the side of the road . . .

Tiny Singer

she could dance
but instead she flies . . .
she has no measure
of earth's gravity
or understanding that the moon follows a path
and is prone to eclipse . . .
and the dearth of knowledge
of the death of time
keeps the sparkle in her face,
like the newness of a burgeoning leaf,
fresh and tender with expectation. . .

She sings for me,
her little Russian rhyme;
and yet those shining eyes cloud-up just a bit
when I turn away . . .
for I am burdened by chores
and duties
which control my desires,
although my heart longs
to contemplate this small shining child. . .
observe her sing
and fly like an angel
outside of the night
and into the spaces where heaven
meets the humble soil
of which her flesh is made . . .

Her burnished, honey colored ringlets
bob hopefully
whenever my tired eyes
meet those sanguine orbs
riding in her
innocent  and delighted face . . .
and a colorful Russian nursery rhyme
curls out of her happy mouth,
like the warm breeze
of Spring
that greets the cold and distant Winter . . .

and though this tiny singer
must end her sweet song and
stop her twinkling feet,
the stars and melodies that
follow her like butterflies
enter my heart by a wide road,
and leading me straight
to the golden harmony of eternal youth,
brightens my soul
and lightens my wearisome burdens. . .

The child in the poem is real . . . she sings to me every day - whenever she sees me . . . but she isn't the only child who gives me the gift of joy, peace, and love which are all balms against crabby old age . . .

Frank Harper's latest album . . . gorgeous, soothing - healing:

a faint memory -
the incense of home
is a dream
that carries you to your hope
in perfect peace. . .
like arms wrapped around a child,
lifting you in your sleep. . .
like a wisp of a dream,
perfection in calm. . .
like a song in a tear,
an angel's gaze
clear as crystal. . .
like a leap of faith . . .
with such, you can fly
on the quiet winds
of this music . . .
Album removed . . . no longer exists!
created with Frank Harper's
spiritual love, gentle soul,
and touched by
an angel's heart beat . . .

Fulltime future by CREIX

This is another striking presentation of CREIX's wonderful creations . . . His stuff always stuns me with its unique values, tones and moods . . . It has always been like poetry to my heart and it is really exciting to see another compilation of his pieces. The music is edgy, experimental and dark . . . but not depressive . . .
and with a particular strategic aptitude to create so many emotions in the listener.

I can't really pick a favorite because they are like individuals with their special abilities to evoke feelings, memories and thoughts . . . each tune is an original creation giving the impression that it was drawn from the depths of a deep soul. This musician is a skillful artist and his music is always appreciated by so many listeners.

It think that the album cover is both tasteful and enigmatic . . . and very eye catching.

Excellence again!

- The Hole in My Heart -

- The Hole in My Heart -

I am always looking for the plug
that will stop the leaking . . .

How can I forgive you
            when you have
                       hurt me so badly

How can you forgive me . . .

and

in the darkness the single candle
draws me . . .
I see warmth . . .
the brave flame pushes
against the darkness
and the cold . . .

your indifference to my plight

I once saw your little face
light up with awe as
you watched the geese
fly, honking. . . and somehow
connected. . .

Hundreds across the cool blue sky
headed towards
the mysterious regions
of dragons and dreams

you indifference is no more
powerful than mine

and I am alone . . .

my grief
will not suffice
at the end of the day

there are no excuses
I must find a way
to forgive you . . .

for
who am I to fly
alone .. ..
in the darkness . . .
