A Little Ambient from Yesterday . . .

Oregon Coast, Lincoln City - December 2010

This album takes you places . . . on flights of fancy and desire . . where gliding within the beautiful and mysterious melodious changes, we are swooping . . .. searching, the wind sketches dreams, and the heart sighs . . . as we fly through blue skies over cold shores and warm continents . . searching, searching . .. the music creating beauty . . like a rebirth . . . like a sun rise in a lonely dark morning . . .and in the edges of that light, spreading like a wine stain . .. we see the margin of hope . . . and it grows in us. . . . and we fly with the music and that light . . . because we can . . .

For: "different places - similar moods" by vvs - music, design & more

..........................................................
Many of these sweetly beautiful songs had a slight celtic, ambient flavor . . . the quiet piano, flute and other instruments were the strength beneath my wings . . .giving me an uplifted and light feeling . . . lifting my mood and capturing my interest.

I thought that "Presentiment Of a Storm" was very unique in experimental nature and was more interesting than beautiful.

I don't know what that tender whistling sound was in "Traces of Sand (-)" but it brought the tears to my eyes . . . maybe it was the sweet and tender melody . . ..or the soul of the musician . . .maybe it was an angel . . .flying by . . .

This album whispered a story to me of being on an island . . . far out in a sunny sea, the music fluid and filling my soul and heart with the comfort I needed as I listened . . .. I think this is my album for the day . . .. for me . .. .

for me . . .

Before the Music Disappears . . ..

Paris - July 2010

So:  I discovered recently . . . that some artists on Jamendo are removing their albums . . . and when they do that . .. my reviews and poems are erased also. So, I have decided to preserve some of my favorite poems and reviews along with the links to the albums . ..  and if the albums disappear from Jamendo  my poems will still exist . ..  .
Although the links will may not work . ..

I also want to share how grateful I am to the musicians on Jamendo . ..  for sharing their music and their art with the world - freely . . . they have always inspired me and many of them have become friends and many have encouraged me . . . perhaps more than they can possibly know . . .

And so often . . . the music has crept into my heart and found a home where I am inspired to write and create .. .. I know that I can always go to Jamendo to find inspiration . . . so thank you, my friends . . .

Please don't forget that these are some of my favorite reviews and poems (my own personal writings). . . not necessarily my most favorite albums or musicians .  .  . . . . . . . . .
..................................................................................
As I walk along this lifeline
I see the shadowy beginnings
and I hear the tearful goodbyes . . .
The march of time
goes slowly by
rending what we hold most dear . . .
This temporal place
these bloody shreds
We cling to in despair . . .
Dance with me my beloved
for we soon must say
goodbye
Hold my hand my love
and look into my eyes
I see myself inside of you . . .
and you within my heart
you are forever there
although,
we must be apart …

Sympathetic . . .
pointed beauty
laying a mesmerizing track
leading your unwary footstep
to its peaceful end of day
and saves your silent tear drops
in the sweetly fragrant cup
of a tender rose petal . . .
and all your golden dreams
offer a point of joy
toward the coming dawn.

..........................................................................

Be drawn into the life of a tear.. .. ..
drama, pain,
despair.. .. ..
and ultimately a release
of tension,
as the tear finds its way out
to begin its journey,
and slowly fades away
as it travels
while calm begins to prevail.. .. ..
peace follows the salty trail
of the tear .. .. ..
a little sorrow still
and then
a gleam of sunshine.. .. ..
relief to the weary soul
while the tear
is only forgotten.

Nothing less than Awesome
02/11/09
Define the experience of this album:

More feeling than sound. More breath than heart. A sound sculpture, cold and infinitely dripping in the eons it takes to melt marble on an ice cold planet, deliberate, malevolent, reaching zenith at every turn. It is more hurt than healing; but this kind of hurt you need, to know that you are alive. If you are alive, after listening to this creation.

This water color of the darkest center of the densest sonance, the loneliest resonance, the deadliest dissonance, a pitch, a note, a peal, the sound of a babies laughter floating in the dregs space. A cacophony of spacial sound, from the far-flung congregational multitudes of galaxies, whirling, singing, calling in the darkest dark and the brightest light.

Laughter, at least there was laughter, before we all were flung away.
A piano.
An island before we drown.
And then we rise, a dynamo, a celestial power, a shattered star.

The angels played their gentle violins and sang their welcoming song in voices that sound like a muffled gong and groan like the behemoth dying on the sand.
We are reborn in a field of exigency and fear comes on us like a multitude of murderous wasps and we are nothing more than an iota in a population of sound.

And in the end - a long drawn out moan, a solo groan - an end.

.................................................................................
Surrounded by the deep blue glow we float down a long misty river, slowly, our minds are at peace with our bodies while we listen to the voices of the gods, as they sing of mysteries and places that only exist in a space and time entirely a mystery to our finite brains.

We are not afraid, but content to listen, and observe, with little consideration for what will happen next. The pace is agonizingly slow, like swimming through ambrosia or honey, but we are in no rush, we like it here and will stay, forever, for we think we dream. But we are under a spell like the tales of old, mesmerized by the songs of the gods.

We have been captivated and held on this long trip down the misty river - to live forever as a slave to these gods of music, but again, we don't care. Perhaps we have found heaven.

......................................................................................

First of all, before I rave about the music, I would like to complement the artist for that beautiful album cover. I thought it was very eye catching. Nice colors which capture the spirit of the music.

the songs are warm and brightly shine
Bouncy! Like deer, bounding about the golden field,
leaping, leading trails of sun caught dust
flinging
hoofs high in joyful spirit
laughter in the eye
I feel that I can run as free as they
I try
and with the tribal drums I fly . . .
the essence of the music
lives
where wings can grow on me.

What a Wonderful Place . . .

Where was I ? the mild scent of burning incense - I was sitting, cross legged on a flower encrusted carpet, it could have floated away with me - I think it did, gently . . .
I remember the melody
the flute . . . drums
and the voice,
that wonderful warm
that soul warming
that heart enwrapping voice . . .
what was it saying to me?
His voice held me captive
I could not move - yet - I think I went somewhere - someplace so beautiful - someplace so mystical - how could I explain this - someplace so peaceful -
maybe it was a form of rapture.

Dreaming

alluring . . .
subtle intensity
pulsing through to the edges of space
and time
with bits of stardust drifting along the way
loosely -
digging into the core of the spinning galaxy . . .
from within the deepest waters
sirens
luring the questioning with a simple song . . .
into dreams of peace and
cobalt blue electricity . . .

Delicate Elegance

Close your eyes while you listen to this beautiful romantic parisian styled tune
- - you see misty reminders of time gone by - in gentle colors of pastels and gray.
A shadowy gathering of figures from long ago - in wistful longing for those days,
they dance in sedate remembrance
to the soft and gentle tune
while the singers sigh and
when the storm begins to call
the vision melts
away
like ashes in the rain. . .
So swiftly gone away.

Realities

Sometimes I am so touched
and overwhelmed
by the wisp of a dream
where love finds
its reflection in a simple beauty. . .
I see it in your eyes
and feel it in your breath
as you blow me high
above the trees
with your warm winds . . .
I find the freedom under my wings
and I rise high
and higher yet .. .. .. where I see
sparks of joy in the tenderly billowing clouds
flirting with an ardent sun. . .
so passionate and engaging
that I cannot but feel as if
I were reborn in your arms
where I can become whatever I wish . . .
so I see rainbows in my skies . . .
where a threat of sullen storms is long gone . . .
and while I  bask
in your sunny smile
warm and safe . .  .
I listen to the melody
of your precious heartbeat
and I know that all is well
in my world
where you are .  .  .
and where I am . . .
content and enraptured
in my beautiful world .  .

I wrote the preceding poem while listening to the following album . . . my heart was moved and I was deeply touched .  . .

Review for: "Réalités - Realities - Realidades" by Claude Veziau

This Album took my breath away . . .. The artist has immense talent . . . each of these pieces so unique .. .. and perfectly and beautifully composed . . .

First we hear a lovely, gently rolling keyboard . . . very sweetly expressive and tender, almost loving. (Soliloque)

One of my favorite tracks is highlighted with the emotional and wistfully nostalgic flute in "Watsenao (Enfant Soleil)" which was most moving and exceptionally played  . . . with a splash of percussion which carried the whole piece off into a distant place, reminiscent of Native American music.

"Réveil" was a beautiful instrumental and flute new-age piece . . . relaxing and lovely. . . . . and "Flyiingg!" has a stunningly played piano . .. .  it flew!!!!

And then (sorry - I have wanted to shorten my reviews but I have my heart in my throat with this next song) the piano in "PlaneTerre" moved me most deeply and I actually got teary eyed . . . and then the song changed so profoundly right smack dab in the middle . . . with a beautiful symphonic accompaniment to the piano . . . oh my - be still my heart!!!

And thus goes this album . . . gorgeous and celestial . . . humane and compassionate . . . moving and emotional . . . peaceful and passionate . . . .a most gorgeous album which I am patting myself on the back for having found .. .. . lucky, lucky me .  ..

A Moment of Music

Poem inspired by: "Mystic Days" by J. Ramakrishna Anand

Roads

zebra . . . watercolor by Say Wah 3rd grade

These two albums by this artist, Feather Drug, are a recent discovery of mine . . . very enjoyable. I especially like "Piano Solo V1.0" . . . All the compositions are beautiful, eclectic . . . created for dreamers and artists . . . and anyone that needs a lift in their long day . . . . I found this album to be inspiring and moving and just so very beautiful . . . - M^^W -

I may be battered and old . . . but this life still has deep meaning for me . . . . . . . beauty . . . music and vision . ..  a story well told . . . all of these touch my heart most profoundly . . . and gives me fuel to lengthen my road and guide me to further ventures . . . I will never stop until I am laid to rest in the junkyard . . .

What is Lost . . .

A Little Darkness and then Comes the Day . . .

 Cimetiere DuPere Lachaise, Paris

Poem in response to: "Trip Solombre" by Shamatronic
Darkness

Very dark . . . moody
following a path
under terra . . . perhaps deeper. . .
caverns so deep where the seeker finds trolls,
slow and uneasy. . .
blood red . . . the walls of the tunnels
throb and drip and ooze , , ,
unknown and unknowable. . .
the seeker crawls like the dying monsters;
black pools reflect nothing
but the harsh red fires burning,
smokeless . . . pure dream time,
roots so deep . . . unfathomed . . .
obscure pictures form like
a haze across the eyes . . .
mourning . . . deep sadness
grief . . . we weep facing
a smooth flood curving up like a wave
of anguish . . . and fear

Poem written while listening: "UTOPIQ" by  Marna

rising from the darkness . . .
sunlight streams off
rain wet streets . . ..
like liquid gold
to the souls of
all the lonely people
beating feet through
flashing rivulets .. . .
a wistful whistle in the trees . . .
wind chimes sail through
a dream of peace and rest
and we wander longingly
through the stone gray forest .  .  .
looking for our tomorrows
as our yesterdays have gone . . .
our hands clutched tightly
around a  single  shining
song . . . .

Requiem

I passed by your final resting place
this past night . . . .
and I knew that you had long gone from this place;
I saw no trace of sorrow . . .
only a bit of moss clinging
to the side
of an old tree . . .
and there,
dangling from the nearest leafless limb,
branches  fingered like  a hand
of skeletal proportions . . .,
a giant globe
of light beamed . . . brilliant
with an inner fire . . . yet,
white and cold like ice,
casting deep shadows,
impenetrable and resolute
like pools of black ink,
bleeding away from
still figures of marble
defining the dead,
clustered and
leaning close toward  an
undefined center

I saw an old crow today
on a telephone pole
gently grooming another
with a beak like a sword. . .
the other posed hunched over
in the cold fog .. .. moisture beaded
on his feathered coat . .
he sat,
still, like an ancient warrior,
done with the killing. . .
silhouetted black cut-outs against
a white sky . . .

          And the day goes by
                    like a black feather
                                 loosened and floating
     down like a dream . ..

focus

Review for: "Focus" by CrEiX
Classy album cover - very eye catching

The saxophone always makes me think of dark shadows and empty, misty streets in a big city . .  . a lostness and a loneliness  . . . although the sax can have a warm, welcoming sound .  .  . it is also edgy and raw and somewhat blue . . . it is probably the most human sounding of all the instruments  . .  due to its reckless emotion . . . and subliminal energy . . and the way it digs into the soul and pulls out a specific apprehension and deep fear of the unknown . . .

So as the voices set the stage - the music creates the atmosphere and emotion. Though the woman sees nothing but a light you get the feeling that she finally escapes through it as the music moves off into the distance. You sense that she has gone beyond her troubles , removed the tether attached to the man . . . and escaped her bondage . . . I hear a freedom in the end . . . and you wonder what is beyond that bright white light . . .

"Focus" is another wonderful piece . . . with a story, as creix's creations are often full of visions and emotions and gives the listener a chance to be creative right along side the musician.

Two Albums of Different Flavors: Enjoy

Monet Gardens at Giverny France

Some chill to cool us down:

Review for: "Midnight Horizons" by JCRZ

JCRZ is always consistent in the quality of his music. His chill is always well chilled and perfect for any de-stressing necessities and relaxation times. He pulls together some very nice ambient sounds and keeps the music smooth flowing, with some gentle percussion and sparks of sound which keeps the shadows at bay.

I could see this music used for any general purposes . . . from a sound track to background music. Its a good mood setter with a nicely positive beat . . .This album contains one long song and then the same song broken down into shorter sessions. I just played the album on a continuous loop to accompany my daily activities and enjoyed the feeling it gave me.

And finally some meditative quiet to bring us all the way down to the edge of sweet dreams:

Review for: "Sketches from the Edge of Silence V. 1" by C.paradisi

Relaxing . . . perfectly peaceful . . . meditative and dreamy . . . just as advertised . . . and actually quite beautiful, like a relaxed walk in a mountain meadow with warm sunlight, gentle breezes and lovely vistas . . I can't tell you how nice it was to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz . . . ..

Forgiveness

Review for: "It hurts" by stefano mocini

http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/83792

Piano . . .  somehow moves me more than any other musical instrument . . . the raw feeling that can be expressed and the diversity of emotion that can be poured out of  its percussive ends . . . is simply endless . . .

This particular piece is so very touching and poignant . . .so much heart that beats through and reaches out to the listener . . . the soul, the spirit that sings from each resonating note as they rise and fall, does so fluidly like the blood that flows through the living being . . . . pouring through . . . giving meaning to each second as I listen. . . feeling that life that pulses in the musician and the listener . . . both. . .  and then . . .  there . . . there is healing in this music . . . a deep spiritual healing . . .

........................................................

The most destructive disease of all
is bitterness and anger. . .
a cancer to the soul. . . .
a destroyer of spirit
and joy . . .

as necessary as
food and water. . . .
is to life . . .
 forgiveness is
to the soul. . .

a moment of rebirth is had
when one heart reaches out
and is able to forgive . . .
injustice  . . .

we all have committed such
hurt on others
we are all so capable . . .
but forgiveness is
healing
to the soul that hurts

like a balm from the heavens . . .
cool and soothing on that raw
pain . . . .
like a miracle it smooths
the harsh edges of
this hard world . . .
it gives the forgiver
a fullness in life again . . .

##

"Forgiving" is my most difficult challenge in life. And in my opinion one of the most profound mysteries of life . . . to forgive and be forgiven.....When someone does something outrageous against me, such as a few years ago when my neighbors chopped down 20+ trees on my property as I was away at work . . . my anger frightened even me . . . and I found that my need to pursue the ability to forgive was paramount and necessary for my inner health.  I found that forgiving is separate from trust and obviously trust is another issue . . . but forgiveness is given freely . . . whereas trust is earned.

Review for : "Soul a Live" by KOLDMusic

Beautiful keyboarding . . . music to take your chances with as you head out on your next grand adventure  . ..  these melodies will accompany you in the spirit and joy of exploring the new and battling those dreadful old monsters of yore .. .. .. take up your magical sword . .  . see how it sparkles in the sunlight .. .. in the star-glow? . . . bring  along this music and fly forth with the strength and pleasure it gives you . . . to strike asunder your foes and battle through to the next horizon . . . and fill your heart full of this shining music . . . lovely . . .

An Angel's Song

Oregon Coast at Yachats

Poem written while reading the message and listening to the album:
"A Voice from the Mountain" by Let Me Introduce You to the End
http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/82502?refuid=119522
 .........................................................

From the distant shores and the mountain tops
I listen to an angel's song . . .
am I the only one who hears?

a wispy voice,
like the cry of a lone bird,
floating high in the sunlight . . .
a shadow follows . . .
a teardrop on a wingtip
reflects
. . .
like a doorway into a rebirth,
an understanding
of what exists in this
hazy moment . . .

a peace in knowing that my joy
is in the freedom of belonging
within the spaces left between. . .
the things I grasp in my heart
are always free to have . . .
you and me;

love and peace within . . .
the sunlight, bird, and shadow . . .
a momentary vision into
a melody within my soul . . .

The Balance of a Bubble

A lone bubble in Paris

Review for : "Balance" by Alexander Blu

I often wonder why . . . the music makes me feel a certain way . . . I am strongly effected by music . . .good or bad and this music effects me in a very positive way . . . filling my heart with effervescent bubbles and my mind full of sentimental and peaceful thoughts . . . happy even . .  .

The tonal aspects and the melodies of these pieces are deeply moving. . . upbeat with expectation and hopefulness . . .  yet relaxing and comforting . . . Very suitable to be played into the atmosphere of the home or as in my case the classroom . . .  and will be enjoyed by all. . . . all afternoon setting a mood . . . of calm and peace.

Bubble:

the surface of a bubble
structured with tension

yet tender and mobile;
balanced in pressure . . .
temporal yet rising to meet its fate. . .
colorful yet subdued and quiet. . .

humble with a brilliant sheen
of rainbow colors
quietly dripping . . .
fluid and intense
with sunlight reflected. . .

soon to evaporate and disappear . . .
ephemeral

a perfect balance . . .

The Big City

Review and poem for: "Scattered Memories 1" by CŒDES Pierre-Marie

The city and its circumstances are described with pure love by the musician's choices of instruments and his lovely compositions. PM is a highly qualified composer, always with an interesting and pointed way of expressing his feelings on a subject. New York city will always intrigue us and move us . . . and it makes a wonderful concept album. The last song on this album is a beautiful, poetically sad and dark message with a ray of shining hope . . . perhaps one of my favorites.  The music on the album, overall is jazzy/bluesy, creative, interesting and an emotionally-charged listen . . .

a city with its
ebb and flow . . . like
        the tides
of life - of the sea. . .
organized chaos,
a cold storm,
across the surface . . .
yet
a churning heat below the depths,
white hot heat . . .
we see
a glowing point of light
on the map of the night. . .
a beauty of many facets
and then
an empty bleakness when crystal shatters
and breaks . . . but
rebuilt with hope and strength,
and love . . .
and love defined
a city with a soul beat
and a heart . . .

My Voice

Growing up, I learned to love Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, and Louisa May Alcott early on in my reading career. I was always thrilled at the different voices I heard, and the unique and creative ways that human beings express themselves.

Reading was my favorite pass-time. When I was very little, the adults in my life never read children's books to me . . . they read from a huge book of poetry with an endless supply of poems . . . many of which were written by an author named "Unknown." Our babysitter was always happy to tease us about this prolific writer . . .

I started writing poetry at a very young age  . . . as soon as I could scribble . . . . I wanted to be like that "Unknown" writer . . . I loved thinking of new ways to explain my deepest feelings about things in my world. I wanted to draw on the emotions on others and connect with them if just for a single moment.

And I am still that way. Words are my allies and friends . . .sharing my inner soul and heart .. . exposing me to the world that chooses to read me. I also read prolifically . . . when I get the chance in my busy schedule. I love to hear the diversity in the human voice . . . everyone being unique and special . . . with their own message, tone, and way of carrying their thoughts forward.

All art is like that . . . a special way for us to connect with others and feel real . . . begin to touch our spiritual and temporal existence; share and understand our perceptions of the world around us . . . . and to be able to protest or exult in life as we see it through our experiences. And as far as we wish to explore or expose .. . . we do, through artistic maneuvers. It is our gift to humanity, to each other. . . and  to ourselves.

There are so many ways to be creative and express ourselves . . . as many ways as there are humans on this earth . . . from the way we dress in the morning; to our doodles on a scrap of paper as we sit bored in a meeting; and at the end of the day the lullabies we sing to our babies.  We are all artists and our art is valid and meaningful.

Everyone should feel confident in their own expressions . . . as there is no measure against which you can compare . . . we all have an unique life experience . . . our footsteps in the sand are our own . . . . and we all have our own viewpoint, for no one else looks through our eyes or hears through our ears . . .  And nobody is a better artist than another . . . just that some are heard more than others and some are understood better . . .its all in the matter of perspective.

So speak out with your own voice . . . make yourself heard . . . and forgive yourself because you are not perfect . . . neither am I . . .no one is . . . Its part of the beauty of life, as we are all uncut gems on a chain of steel . . .strength connecting us and beauty expressing us . . ..

And be creative . . . buy a box of crayons . . . and draw a picture . . . hang it up on the fridge and admire it . . . for there is not another masterpiece exactly like it . . . . No one else can do what you do!

Catching Up . . .

Lincoln City, Oregon

As this is a holiday in the USA (Martin Luther King) I am taking the opportunity to catch up on a little listening on Jamendo. Also as there hasn't been any new albums in a few days . . .I am exploring through the stacks and stacks of great albums still laying around from months before . . . So here are a few good ones (posted one at a time) :

Review for: "ONE SHOT" by southman

This album, this strolling jazzy piano may be a little experimental, a little avant-garde, and is definitely enjoyable for a lazy thoughtful sunny afternoon . . . It gave me that opportunity to be introspective and creative . . . It lets your thoughts flow and helps you create sculptures within your interior landscapes . . .

Moody and relaxed, sunny or nostalgic . . . these pieces are perfectly and wonderfully composed and played . . .

Review/thoughts for: "The fallen angel" by Peter Kind

We struggle with our own imperfections,
our selfish ways and childish evils . . .
and though we wish
we were glorious shiny angels
of Celestial palaces
those places seem so unattainable
to our world weary eyes . . .
so we look elsewhere amongst our gods . . .
and we find that
we better understand the fallen ones . . .
for though we live in the spaces between
Heaven and Hell
with pathways to each . . .
we are fascinated by the darkness
and through those resident beings
we also understand ourselves . . .
we see our visages reflected,
darkly,
in the mirror of our existence.. . .
and
through accepting evil as much as we worship the glory
of the sublime . . .
we come to accept and forgive ourselves. . .

Besides that . . . the music was purely enjoyable as just a good listen, relaxing, darkish and calm . . .. as beautiful as the fallen one . . .

Review for: "Balade au gré du vent" by Aurélie Lesage

I could almost visualize this pianist playing their wonderfully contemplative piano pieces . . .  peaceful and lightly skimming over the clouds where the high places are . . . the sunshine and the bright mountain peaks meet here . . . a place of oneness and wholeness . . . .  listen and listen and let the music grow in your soul . . .  simply beautiful with wings above the airs . . .

Review for: "Explorer's Tales" by Dmitriy Samoylenko

As an explorer . . . I follow this mesmerizing music . . . trance-like I visualize these spiritual travels and yet I listened as if I were reading the book of life:

An astonishing magical flute like a butterfly light in the darkness of the droning . . . fills my soul with hope and joy . . . a peacefulness so mesmerizing so encompassing that I cannot take my eyes away from such a beautiful thing . . . and I follow . . . "Follow the Fire" . . .

High in the craggy mountains I hear the song of the raptor and watch his flight, while listening to the voice of the wise one and the cry of the lonesome flute . . . "Yet Deeper Into Trance" . . . a flutter of wings, and I see the angels stoop low to hear  this beautiful music in that rarified air . . . and the bells keep me grounded . . .

"Taste of Namelessness" began as a long drone . . .like a fog horn . . lost in the mist  and  I remember when I had to find my spirit name . . . unidentifiable . . .  a very slow saxophone wanders into my thoughts and the rain falls, washing away the fog in the night in the city . . . where I find myself lost and unknown in the dark . . . yet found within the temple of my spirit . . .

The music swallows me as I swallow it . . .. becoming one with the grayness of the droning, "Ashes of Affections." I taste the bitterness of clinging to the shallow desires of modern life . . . the emptiness of acquiring that which we will never own . . . the flute, like a guiding spirit, carries me away from my empty heart , the percussion  is the strength in sure footsteps. . . and I find an abode in the bower of pure love . . .

"If I Not Exist" but what is . . .is . . .and is meant to be . . . and we gain strength from our existence and that of all in our realm . . .  like an unbroken chain . . . the music holds us together, binding us in its heaviness . . . a sort of glue  . . . the bells, like sparks of time, brighten and enlighten as we listen . . . we exist because we are . . . and I am,  because you are . . .  and the little bird sings your name . . .

The slight dis-harmony of the keyboard in "Another Real World is Near" jarred my thoughts with endless realities . . . another existence within our own . . . connected to ours . . . feeding from our world as we feed from it . . . an exotic, slightly Asian flavored song . . . yet,  like a jazzy improvisation . . . flinging itself, open-heart, into the sublime . . .

"Anyway I Go On"  . . . yes . . . beautiful and true . . . graceful keyboarding with lovely vocals . . . and then the warm sax that dived into my soul - like an old friend . . . or a special interlude with an angel . . . filling me with that special joy that comes with the fullness of life . . .

This album is NOT to be missed . . . but it takes an unique listener to find the time to sit and really listen and read the heart of the musician . . .and capture all the beauty of the subtleties of the music and grow a little spiritually . . ..  This is a stunning listen . . . listen for the nuances or just play it for meditation or relaxation . . ..

WOW - perfection . . .!!!!

Jamendo Share of the Year

http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/65100

I couldn't believe the quality of the music when I first discovered, about a year ago, Tunguska Electronic Music Society . . . I do still like their older albums best, but you can count on some of the best and most creative music on Jamendo showing up on their albums . . . Here you will be able to listen to hours and hours of gorgeous music. Don't forget to download some of the albums (for free) and write a few words of appreciation in the review sections on Jamendo (it encourages the musicians) . . . . Enjoy:

Sunday Evening Spacing

Review/Poem for: "ombre sulle stelle" by darklight

The magnificent forms and shapes of space
concentrate and blaze through eternity
leaving colorful dust trails and brilliance,
dancing sparks of light
move through the blackness
and removing shadows of sadness . . .
replace nothingness with joy. . .
and there is no empty silence
when there is this music
filling our inner darkness
with its peaceful calmness
and perfection
beautiful and shining. . .

Absolutely lovely . . .

Poem  . . . .  for: "Black & white" by ELECTRICPLANET

Nature finds its way through the cracks
of our cold hard armor. . .
a ray of sunlight warms our bones,
the flow of water soothes our soul,
a bird sings a sweet startling melody . . .
and lifts us up
on her tiny wings .. .
and as we are touched,
and as we listen,
we become one with this small
blue planet . .
but
bewildered by  the darkness
of the outer cosmos
we turn to these rays of light
sent to us through the music. . .
like the stars that sparkle in the night,
and the warm glow from our fire light. . .
we are comforted . . .

yes . . . the music does that for us . .

Lucy

My brain is numb from
    watching murder mysteries
so I argue with the cat
            over the pencil . . .
The one with the sour point
that scrapes and drags
itself across the rough paper . . .
toothmarks pointed;
and defiant, but
unremarkable words pour off
the tip like a paper match
dragging across an emery strip,
to flame
and devour itself . . .
a blue flash, a flare of yellow and then
a blackened strip of crumbled soot. . .
dust to be tossed
aside and disappear
into the peripheries of life
. . . .My page resembles wall paper
with traces and patterns. . .
and the cat is cleaning
her left hind leg;
my pencil,
scratching and trailing,
finds its way to the
prison of my teeth and
I remember shorthand  . . . .

Her Daddy

see that young girl
                                   wearing the white parka
waiting for the bus . . . ?
She is smiling and laughing,
                                                        her teeth flash bright
white, like her coat . . .
                            she is dancing around
her daddy. . .
her eyes shine
like smooth black
                                                      pebbles in the stream;
and the rain is forced down
on us ..  ..
                                            there on that street corner
                       everyone who passes by
smiles with an inner warmth. . .
not quite sure why they feel a glow and
puzzled by what  has moved them so . . .
she is connected to her father by a white cord . . .
she holds the iPod while he listens
to her music,
and she . . . dancing without the melody,
yet seeming to know where it guides her,
tenderly rubs her hands across his shoulders. . .
brushing the glowing raindrops
                                                     off his daddy-wings

Like a Dream . . .

Water fountain in Paris - 2010

Review for: "Workbench - Dream of Silence" by Workbench (Red Puma)

A waterfall of cool, smooth music crests over my tense shoulders . . . I sit as still as a stone . . .entranced, perhaps enchanted by these angels singing . . . a melody so still and hushed it becomes the timbre of feathers glancing off of silver bells; and the instrumental sounds of heaven slide slowly to me along a pastel rainbow.

I sit, introspective and nostalgic as this sentimental music washes my soul of the dust and hurts of daily hardship. I sit still, charmed by these angel songs . . . and the stone sighs; I take a deep breath and melt under the tender solace of the gentle song . . .  as beautiful as a dream . . . a dream I once had - long ago . . . "Fragments" returning to me and filling my soul . . . .
